DIY Mickey Mouse Gumball Machine under $10!!

I made this as a gift for a birthday party with the theme of Mickey Mouse and everyone uhhhhhhed and ahhhhhhhed about it, including the birthday boy! I love DIY gifts to save money and make something more personalized than a store bought gift! Made it for under $10!!! Here's what you'll need:

-2 small styrofoam balls for the ears
(I purchased a bag from Dollar tree)

-Black, red and yellow acrylic paint
(Purchased from Walmart each paint is .50 cents)

-paint brushes with sponge applicators
($1 at Walmart next to paints)

-Black glitter to coat ears (optional)
($1 at Walmart as well)

-2 buttons (Any size and either white or yellow looks good)

-Hot glue gun & glue sticks

-6 inch terra cotta pot (.75 at Walmart)

-3 inch terra cotta saucer (.75 at Walmart)

-glass bubble bowl (purchased at Dollar Tree)

-Any color gumballs, I used 30 red ones (only $2 to fill)
(Purchased from Party City 15/$1 or if making a larger one they sell $5.99 bags)

Steps: Paint the saucer and ears black, let dry. Once dry apply thin coat of black paint on ears and coat in glitter. Set aside.
Paint the rim of the pot yellow let it dry before painting next color. Paint top half black and the rest red. I just winged it and made sure to paint straight but you can tape off sections of it makes it easier for you.
Once everything is painted and dry, glue terra cotta pot and glass bowl together, make sure to add enough glue to be nice and sturdy. Then fill it with the gum balls. Put aside.
Carve a small insert on styrofoam balls to curve into the lid so you can put glue in there and then glue on to the top as desired.
I did a 1 inch slit by just pressing the balls onto the saucer lid and following the dent mark it left. Once dry, put the top (
on (not glued) and you're all done! So easy and very cute!

I had letter stickers so I just added them to the bowl with the birthday boys name for fun!

Thanks for coming by for the tutorial, you can see the finished result on my Pinterest account ! :)
